Conclusion
By using geothermal energy we are taking up less space and using a cleaner form of energy. We are also limiting ourselves to the fact that there may not even be enough energy for everyone. In Florida I would have to say that using geothermal energy would not be the best choice. It has an incredibly high installation fee. Also you would only stay in our house because there wouldn't be enough energy for the rest for the state.
What is geothermal energy?
Geothermal energy is the heat from the Earth. It's clean and sustainable. Resources of geothermal energy range from the shallow ground to hot water and hot rock found a few miles beneath the Earth's surface, and down even deeper to the extremely high temperatures of molten rock called magma.
Set backs of geothermal energy
- It can eventually run out of steam due to a change in temperature
- There is a high installation fee. Since the steam is founded in the earth, we need a certified team and equipment which is very expensive.
- It is not easily transported.
- It is only suited for places that have very hot rocks below the earth.
- The places that can allow geothermal energy is far away from it's actual consumers.
- We don't know for a fact if it will generate enough energy for our everyday lives.
Benefits of geothermal energy
- One major benefit of geothermal energy is that it is it a renewable energy source.
- Also it is very clean and it doesn't produce green house gases.
- Using geothermal energy is also very inexpensive.
- It conserves fossil fuels
- No pollution
- Geothermal energy doesn't take up that much space.
